The Kogi State government has advised secondary school students not to allow themselves to be used for thuggery and violence by politicians.
In December 2019, thugs said to be loyal to Governor Yahaya Bello and the ruling APC burnt opposition PDP woman leader, Salome Abuh, to death over some scuffle during Mr Bello’s governorship election.
The commissioner was in the school to inspect ongoing renovation at the school.
“The governor has decided to fix your school and make it world-class. Your laboratory will be equipped as soon as the renovation work is completed,” he said.
Mr Jones urged the students to be hardworking, focused, disciplined, obey teachers and do their best to be successful in life.
The Principal of the school, Yakubu Oguche, expressed excitement over the visit of the commissioner and his team.
Mr Oguche, represented by the Vice-Principal, Grace Ibilomo, said that the visit would motivate the students to be focused and determined to become whoever they aspire in life.
